I usually don’t look up the anime director of a certain anime is until I’ve finished the series or the movie, but there is one exception to this: Hayao Miyazaki. I’ve seen a lot of the movies that he directed, and I love pretty much every single one of them. He’s the person that made anime famous outside of Japan, and I think his fame is very well deserved.
The thing I like most about his movies is that each and every movie is unique, and yet ever movie has certain traits by which one can definitely say it’s from Hayao Miyazaki’s hand. He has a great eye for detail, and his characters always stand out. The movies I like best from him are Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle and Princess Mononoke.
