The end of the final episode of Wolf’s Rain left me rather confused after having watched the series for the first time, but after watching the anime for a second time, I think I have found a fitting explanation for the final scene. Now let me share it with you.

I immensely enjoyed this anime, and I can’t help but slightly analyze all the character relationships, because each and every character is bound to another in a unique way. I might be over-analyzing, but I think there are some points of view that are interesting enough to at least consider and take a look at.

What exactly is it that makes that mangaka and anime makers are so fascinated by eyes? It is no longer an exception that an anime character has something quirky going on with one or both of their eyes. Be it one or two eyes that have been gauged out, eyes that can hypnotize people or eyes that are always shut for some mysterious reason, for every of your eye fetishes there is an anime character.

It is unbelievable what can be “said” through music. Certain emotions can be conveyed through music, something which a written or spoken word would never be able to do. Ever since people all over the world have started to gain an interest in anime, dubs have started to appear. The main herald is of course North-America, who have been providing English dubs for numerous anime. But also in many other languages, such as French and German, the number of dubbed anime increases. Is this a good thing, though? Should we all learn to live with subtitles and hear the characters speak in Japanese? Or should we all rejoice over this phenomenon of dubbing?
