Two days without internet means that I had to interrupt my 30-days challenge. But the problems concerning my internet connection should be fixed, so hopefully it won’t happen again! As for the challenge of today, the saddest anime scene, I choose a scene that is so sad that I am still crying even after having watched it several times.

I’ve talked about this specific scene before, in my post Anime Music that Inspires Me. I think the most epic scene ever has to be the final fight in Sword of the Stranger. It contains all the elements that are needed to make a scene amazing: epic music, two enemies facing each other, a fight, swords, and an eerie, foreboding environment. Read the rest of this entry »

I started off thinking that this character was actually not annoying at all. On the contrary: I pitied him and hoped that everything would turn out alright for him. But soon this sympathy changed into feeling annoyed because of his ignorance and his personality. I’m talking about Ganta from Deadman Wonderland. Read the rest of this entry »

I’m not really ashamed of any of the anime I’ve seen so far, but if I had to choose one, I guess it would be World Destruction. Why I am slightly ashamed of it? Because it’s basically your stereotypical adaptation of a game to an anime, and in terms of story it’s actually rather bad… And you know, the title is not that attractive either… But I still enjoyed it anyway. I really had to think about this question, because I have several favourite characters, but an anime crush… I’m not so sure about that! But… if I’m very honest, I must say that my heart beat a little faster every time I saw Hei from the Darker than Black franchise on my computer screen.

Anime that are based upon games are usually not my cup of tea, but I decided to give this one a try nevertheless. Soon I found out, though, that a basic knowledge of the game was necessary in order to be able to understand the story at its fullest. Read the rest of this entry »

My favourite anime – that has to be Wolf’s Rain! I loved this anime from the first second to the last. Despite the fact that it seems to be popular, I still think that Wolf’s Rain is underestimated by most people. It was the second anime that I watched, and I’ve re-watched it two times now. This anime had everything to turn into an interesting series. We have the mysterious man, who has forgotten his past. We have the loyal friend, who is willing to make sacrifices to help the people around him. We have the villain, who wants to destroy things that are precious to the main character. But somehow I was expecting something different, I think. Because to me this anime ended up being boring and very tiring. Read the rest of this entry »

An anime by Clamp can’t be bad, that’s what I thought at the beginning of this series, so I was happy to start with this one. It didn’t take long before I noticed that all the stereotypical Clamp features from other Clamp anime (consisting of pretty boys, fantasy elements, life-threatening tasks and legs and arms that can’t possibly be natural) were also present in this anime. It didn’t bother me, on the contrary, I found this distinct style quite charming. Read the rest of this entry »

“This anime was not what I had expected.” This phrase came to mind after I had finished the series. And that’s still how I feel about it. It’s like going on a journey, starting in Japan and ending up in the United States (this is only a metaphor of course, the characters don’t suddenly change location… or do they?). Some elements were very unpredictable, which resulted in the fact that I watched one episode after another in order to make sense out of all the events. Read the rest of this entry »
