I remember my very first anime very well! It was Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles. I watched it 3 years ago (so you can tell that I’m not that long into anime yet!). I think it was a very good introduction to anime, because it contains several of the elements that anime is so well known for (original art style, famous seiyuus (voice actors), beautiful music,…). An anime by Clamp can’t be bad, that’s what I thought at the beginning of this series, so I was happy to start with this one. It didn’t take long before I noticed that all the stereotypical Clamp features from other Clamp anime (consisting of pretty boys, fantasy elements, life-threatening tasks and legs and arms that can’t possibly be natural) were also present in this anime. I’ve been waiting so long to watch this movie; I’ve been literally counting days until it would be on dvd. My patience ultimately got rewarded: once again we get a Ghibli masterpiece with a fantastic setting and a beautiful storyline. I’m sure fans of the Ghibli movies won’t be disappointed: Karigurashi no Arrietty is a top-notch visual piece. Read the rest of this entry »
