That’s a fun question, but a hard one to answer. Because there are so many characters I’d like to cosplay! Especially the unique-looking ones, because it would just be too boring to cosplay a character that looks like a “normal” person, right? Anyway, if I have to choose one character, then I’d say… Grell Sutcliff! Read the rest of this entry »

I always watch anime in Japanese with English subtitles, so I don’t have a lot of experience in the field of English dubbed anime… However, when I was looking for episodes for Utawarerumono, it was extremely hard to find Japanese audio with English subs. The situation became even so bad that I had to watch two episodes with English dub (the horror!). Read the rest of this entry »

This was… unexpected. Really? Favourite pokemon? It’s been ages since I’ve last seen an episode of Pokemon, let alone that I’d remember every single pokemon that has appeared in that series. I do have a younger brother that used to collect pokecards, though, but still… Oh ok, I admit it, my favourite pokemon is ArcanineRead the rest of this entry »

I know you are thinking by now, “gosh, here she goes again, mentioning Ano Hana”. But I can’t help it, because in this category as well, favourite anime opening theme song, I have to admit that Ano Hana’s opening was the best I’ve seen and heard so far. An honourable mention, though, must be give to Romeo x Juliet, because I immensely enjoyed the opening theme of this anime as well, both the visuals and the song. Read the rest of this entry »

I’ve never really like those harem anime series where several girls cling to a male character in order to catch his attention. Reverse harem, however, is a whole different matter to me; I guess being a girl makes it more pleasant to watch reverse harem instead of the regular harem. The reverse harem series I enjoyed watching the most is definitely Ouran High School Host Club. Read the rest of this entry »

There are quite a lot of anime villains that I like. Well, maybe “like” is not the most adequate word; perhaps it’s better to say that there are a lot of anime villains that are portrayed in an interesting way. The villain that I think is the most interesting is Darcia from Wolf’s Rain.

SPOILER WARNING: this blog post may contain spoilers of Wolf’s Rain. You have been warned. Read the rest of this entry »

I’m a sucker for those anime that focus on one specific hero or heroine and then portrays the struggles and hardships he or she has to go through in order to become what they want to be. Add in some flirting with “the dark side” and you’ll have me hooked. I think an anime characer that fills these requirements is Hei from Darker than Black. Read the rest of this entry »

The topic of this anime challenge is quite ambiguous to me, because I think there is a large difference between the best and the most intriguing art. That’s why I will choose two “winners” today, in those two categories. If we’re talking about the best art, then I think Kuroshitsuji is an extremely good example of that. For the most intriguing art, however, the prize goes to Ano Hana. Read the rest of this entry »

Again, a difficult topic, mainly because it’s hard to decide what sets apart a josei anime from other anime series. In the end I think I’ll choose Haibane Renmei, because to me this series truly represents what josei stands for: it’s a very mature series, and you need to go through some thinking to understand the deeper layers of what is happening. It was hard for me to come up with an anime that would have an older male audience as its main target group. That’s why I had to cheat a little and check the tags on MyAnimeList. My favourite anime from the ones that had the seinen-tag is Arakawa Under the Bridge, a rather unconventional and hilarious anime. Read the rest of this entry »
